ABOUT

FabioTendai, aka Jide Alade resides in North London and has been involved in the London scene for over 8 years. This DJ has humble beginnings and has gotten to where he is through doing more than his fair share of hard work. He has been involved in music since a young age, but truly became infused in it when he started promoting in 2000. He promoted a highly successful series of nights at London’s Scala. He then went on to start the first drum ’n’ bass night at Shoreditch’s Herbal nightclub called Hexion, which became notorious for it fusion of DJs, visuals and live art. It was through this that in 2001 he started DJing by playing warm up sets there for fun. As time went by his skills and recognition increased and started getting a lot more bookings.

In that time he played alongside DJs such as Grooverider, Goldie and Fabio. In his middle years Tendai gained residencies at a variety of drum ’n’ bass nights such as Grooverider’s Grace, Wax On Wax Off, Kila Kela’s Spit Kingdom and Tokyo Mania at 333. He played on a variety of radio shows including Kool FM, Ruud Awakening, Rinse FM and had a residency on Pyrotechnic Radio. He was then later chosen to join the Groove Connection Agency and became a resident at Swerve where he has been playing ever since Tendai was chosen to feature in Knowledge Magazines ’Give ’em Props’ section and also featured in the new talent section if Base.Ad Magazine. He was one of the featured artists of Aerosoul Clothing and was one of the faces of Supreme Being He has since toured Brazil playing at many Sao Paulo clubs and was also a guest on DJ Marky’s Energia 97 FM radio show; DJ’ed in Austria, Estonia Dublin; had residencies at Movement at Bar Rumba, Primal in Turnmills, and has played at Fabric Live debuting alongside Fabio & Grooverider for their 10th Anniversary celebration.

He has also played at a wide variety of clubs including Heaven, Kensington Roof Gardens, Punk, The Met Bar, an St Martin’s Lane Hotel. Over time Tendai diversified to other musical forms as well as growing within the drum ’n’ bass scene such as broken beat, house, disco, hip-hop, funk, soul, and r’n’b. He has since diversified and undertaken production and has since made tunes both on his own and in collaboration with producers like DJ S.P.Y
